After the Tea Party (NZ Sauna Amsterdam review)

🧖‍♂️ NZ Sauna Amsterdam – Hot Crowd, Small Space, Big Night

The Tea Dance at NZ Sauna had just wrapped up in Amsterdam, and while Bossbot and I hadn’t planned to go to the sauna, we figured—why not drop by after? It was his birthday after all, and he loves the sauna!

We had not really realised how big the Tea Party would be and that I would be filled with the normal sauna crowd. Instead, we walked into a wall of heat, bodies, and towels. The place was packed! Think fit guys in their late 20s to mid-30s, chatting, cruising, lounging. The energy was high, and honestly? A bit overwhelming at first.

I’m used to saunas like Steamworks Arnhem or Tibet in Eindhoven, where the crowd leans older and the vibe is more relaxed. Here? It felt more like stepping into Twink, Twunk and Bear Central. My self-image alarm went off—but I pushed through, grabbed a beer, and let myself settle in.

🔥 The Vibe

  • Crowded but hot—in every sense. Expect a younger, fit, international crowd during the Tea party and after.
  • Cruisy vibe for sure, but a lot stayed wrapped in towels or kept their distance at first.
  • Eventually, it was easy to just people-watch, chat, and enjoy the atmosphere.

🧱 The Setup

  • Size: Smaller than expected if you’re used to Tibet or Steamworks.
  • Facilities: One dry sauna, a massive steam room with upper and lower benches and a small hamam platform, and one hot tub that’s always full.
  • Darkroom: Pretty big with lots of corridors, rooms, dark corners and some slings. The glory holes? Not so anonymous—too visible when you enter.
  • No pool or dunk bath, so if you’re here for the spa side of things, you might be underwhelmed.

Compared to other places I’ve been, NZ leans more toward the cruising crowd. It’s not a wellness spa—it’s built for connection, not calm.

💸 Entry, Lockers & Staff

  • Entry was €26 and included your first drink. Fair deal!
  • Lockers were easy to use, with a key on a rubber wristband.
  • Staff? Curt but not rude—they got the job done.

🍻 Personal Wins

We grabbed beers and sat in the lounge, music playing, watching the bodies float by. It took me a while to mentally settle in but I got there. I’m still learning to feel fully comfortable with my body in spaces like this. By the end I had eventually relaxed enough that I would make a few moves. One or two polite rejections but also two cocks that loved to be sucked. Even got the courage to wait on my knees in one booths and see who walks in. I was proud of myself.

In the end I didn’t get that much action but after three cocks I called it a night and quit when I was on top before pushing myself too hard.

📍Will I Go Back?

Yes.
But next time, I’ll go on a regular day to see what it’s like without the post-party chaos. Also: it’s open late, which makes it a great spot to kill time in Amsterdam after dark. I might go to the Tea party proper but I’ll bring a few friends for that!
